Christmas 2024 Reflections or that was the year that was……….. Reflecting on 2024, the real thing that really springs to mind is how much the weather has affected what we had planned. Every year, as soon as the calendar is available, I always pick the events we’re going to race and then deconflict with club and family events. Our first race this year was mid-May and by that time 4 events we had planned to do had been cancelled. The theme continued throughout the year and although we did have some busy periods, we only managed to race 7 meetings although 3 of them were 2-day meetings. That’s a total of 34 races. Last year our Awards Secretary (and my son) David jumped in the chair and has had an impressive rise from rookie to winning his first race in 2024. No mean fete given how demanding passengering is and worthy of being awarded the Nex-Ryall Trophy for the most improved rider/passenger. Overall, our performance has left us 2nd in the Mortimer Club Championship through a consistent season with good rides and reliable machinery (see Karen the money is worth it)
